Seventh Sunday after Pentecost

O God, the protector of all who trust in you, without whom nothing is strong, nothing is holy: Increase and multiply upon us your mercy; that, with you as our ruler and guide, we may so pass through things temporal, that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. 

Saint James the Apostle

 O gracious God, we remember before you today your servant and apostle James, first among the Twelve to suffer martyrdom for the Name of Jesus Christ; and we pray that you will pour out upon the leaders of your Church that spirit of self-denying service by which alone they may have true authority among your people; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Saint Mary Magdalene

 Almighty God, whose blessed Son restored Mary Magdalene to health of body and of mind, and called her to be a witness of his resurrection: Mercifully grant that by your grace we may be healed from all our infirmities and know you in the power of his unending life; who with you and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Sixth Sunday after Pentecost

 Almighty God, the fountain of all wisdom, you know our necessities before we ask and our ignorance in asking: Have compassion on our weakness, and mercifully give us those things which for our unworthiness we dare not, and for our blindness we cannot ask; through the worthiness of your Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Fifth Sunday after Pentecost

O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that they may know and understand what things they ought to do, and also may have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen. 

Fourth Sunday after Pentecost

 O God, you have taught us to keep all your commandments by loving you and our neighbor: Grant us the grace of your Holy Spirit, that we may be devoted to you with our whole heart, and united to one another with pure affection; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

 A Prayer for our Country 

 Almighty God, who has given us this good land for our heritage: We humbly beseech you that we may always prove ourselves a people mindful of your favor and glad to do your will. Bless our land with honorable industry, sound learning, and pure manners. Save us from violence, discord, and confusion; from pride and arrogance, and from every evil way. Defend our liberties, and fashion into one united people the multitudes brought here out of many kindreds and tongues. Endue with the spirit of wisdom those to whom in your Name we entrust the authority of government, that there may be justice and peace at home, and that, through obedience to your law, we may show forth your praise among the nations of the earth. In times of prosperity, fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in you to fail; all which we ask though Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

 In peace, we pray to you Lord God. 

 For all people in their daily life and work; For our families, friends, and neighbors, and for those who are alone. 

 For this community, the nation, and the world; For all who work for justice, freedom, and peace. 

 For the just and proper use of your creation; For the victims of hunger, fear, injustice, and oppression. 

 For all who are in danger, sorrow, or any kind of trouble; For those who minister to the sick, the friendless, and the needy. 

 For the peace and unity of the Church of God; For all who proclaim the Gospel, and all who seek the Truth. 

 For Sean our Presiding Bishop, for Nicholas our Bishop and for Marilyn and Elizabeth the clergy at St. Paul's; and for all bishops and other ministers; For all those who serve God in God's Church. 

 For the special needs and concerns of this congregation. Hear us Lord; For your mercy is great. 

 On the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer, We pray for our Episcopal Conference Center in Pascoag - for the summer Campers, the Counselors, and the Staff. 

 The Altar Flowers are given in loving memory of Alice Peckham and Phyllis Sherman. May they, and all the faithful departed, rest in peace.  

 We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life. We will exalt you, O God our saviour: And praise your Name for ever and ever. 

 We pray for all who have died, that they may have a place in your eternal kingdom. Lord let your loving-kindness be upon them; Who put their trust in you.

 Postcommunion Prayer 

 Gracious and loving God, you have made us one in the body of Christ, and nourished us at your table with holy food and drink. Now send us forth to be your people in the world. Grant us strength to persevere in resisting evil, and to proclaim in all we say and do your Good News in Christ Jesus our Savior. Amen.

Independence Day

 Lord God Almighty, in whose Name the founders of this country won liberty for themselves and for us, and lit the torch of freedom for nations then unborn: Grant that we and all the people of this land may have grace to maintain our liberties in righteousness and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
